DESCRIPTION: WW - Vacheron & Constantin open worked Métiers d'Arts $20 Saint-Gaudens gold coin watch, manual wind, 35mm x 42mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original 22K yellow gold and 18K yellow gold coin edge case with hidden dial, raised button on case side reveals time, black alligator strap and 18K gold buckle signed Vacheron, original open worked skeletonized movement which has been engraved and embellished, 18J cal 1003, s#662919, triple signed. When built this was the thinnest manual wind wristwatch movement in production; add to that the complex nature of skeletonizing and engraving the plates and you have one hell of an elaborate piece. This watch originally retailed through Vacheron in excess of $70,000. Gross weight of assembled watch without strap 24.4 dwt (38.1 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, flawless cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; engraved plates; flawless dial; mint black painted gold hands; unpolished case shows hardly any wear, $20 coin shows typical wear from years of circulation, several light dings on front and back of coin; crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
